Year-End Giving Note: The IRS requires that donors must deliver or mail (and postmark) checks on or before December 31 in order to claim a charitable contribution for the year. Checks placed in the church offering during the first worship service in the new year will not qualify for a previous-year deduction, even if the check was actually written and dated in the previous year.
