It is exciting to know that in every box of food that is distributed, the word of God is shared along with a personal invitation to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord! AFM was founded on fulfilling the great commission as given by Jesus Christ...

And Jesus came and spoke unto them saying, 'All power is given unto me in heaven and on earth. Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.' Past  The non-profit, non-denominational ministry was started by Rev. S. Joseph and Linda Wingo and their sons in Monroe, GA in 1994. They first fed 34 families from their home. As the ministry grew, it became clear that all people could be blessed from this program by saving money on their food expenses. This allows them more seed money to sow into their churches, ministries, and unto others that are in need. Most importantly, it provides an excellent tool to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in their community. Since January 1995, over 8.1 Million people have been touched by Angel Food Ministries.

Present  AFM currently ministers in 32 states through over 3,000 host sites. Pennsylvania has approx. 280 sites. AFM has a strong relationship with the U.S. Dept. Of Agriculture and is an authorized food stamp program participant. Today, over 500,000 families are fed each month. In addition, AFM makes benevolent donations back to host site churches for every order of a regular food box or a special box ordered through a host site.
